Ellen Moore,

Bio coming soon!
Denise Tontarski, Aquatics
Director
Denise began her
professional career in Aquatics in 1986 answering her
children wanting to spend the whole summer at summer camp –
she enrolled in an Aquatic Specialist Program, becoming the
Aquatic Director at Camp Dark Waters, Medford, New Jersey.
After spending two years as the Aquatic Director, she became
one of the Camp Directors for the next 10 summers.
During the school
year and in between times Denise taught swimming at:
-
Burlington
County College in New Jersey – American Red Cross
Swimming including children ages 6 months to adults, the
oldest being 85. In addition to traditional swimming
classes, Denise coordinated the Special Populations
Aquatic programs at Burlington County College for
several years.
-
The Woods
School – a residential facility for Developmentally
Disabled, Langhorne, PA
-
YMCA of
Burlington County, New Jersey
-
Burlington
County Special Services School District, New Jersey
-
American Red
Cross Aquatic Camps
-
Kent County
Parks and Recreation
-
Rock Hall

Denise found her
niche’ with Special Populations and continued her career as
a Certified Social Worker in New Jersey working with
emotionally challenged and adjudicated teenagers. Learning
to swim became a great activity for those teens - giving
them a life skill and a chance to just have fun in a safe
environment.
Denise and her
husband Tom moved to the Eastern Shore in 2000. Denise
switched careers for a short time when she became the
Managing Partner at a sailing school in Rock Hall, MD. But
again, she’s returned to her first love – teaching swimming, aquaexercise and water safety.
